United on the Hill | PKD Foundation

maggiesmeats:

My Monday & Tuesday:

United on the Hill is our annual legislative and public policy conference in Washington, D.C. After participating in advocacy training, we spend a day on Capitol Hill meeting with our members of Congress, to both raise awareness for PKD and discuss our legislative priorities for the year.”

My #idiotrun for Polycystic Kideny Disease is going to benefit the PKD Foundation and all of the wonderful things things foundation is working towards for people with this horrible disease.

I did a solid 6 miles tonight. The best thing about those 6 miles was that I could have kept going and going. The last mile I stepped on the gas and went as fast as my legs could take me after 5 miles.

Check out my race route as collected by my Garmin Forerunner.

Scared of a little rain? YEP! #idiotrun

I’m panicking - this rain is raining on my parade. Running is fun for me but running in the rain?! This is something I’ve avoided since I started, but with my first 20k literally around the corner, I’m feeling like I need to get over my fear of the rain.

It appears that the experts say - stop being a baby and just do it. Ohh, and don’t forget the body glide. No one wants to chafe.

I’ve got my cause and i’m running with it!! Help Me! #idiotrun

I’ve been debating on running the New Haven Road Race 20K versus the safer 5K option and I just decided today that I am going for it. It’s official.

So with this official statement I would like to make it known that I will be running for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. The PKD Foundation does research and gains awareness for this disease that affects 1 in 500 people.

It does not matter how slow you go so long as you do not stop.

Running my first competitive race as an individual. The Trumbull, CT 5K sunset run. The sun was unfortunately not out and it rained. I came in 97th place out of 478 people.
